Safeguarding Experience → Recognising Innovation → Spreading Good Practice

Mobility, networks, the activation of disadvantaged groups, diversity management and new methods in vocational education and training – we present projects in these fields in order to safeguard the knowledge and experience of new approaches!

Securing a skilled workforce and the labour market integration of disadvantaged target groups – these issues are of major importance in Berlin. On the one hand, there was an estimated shortage of skilled workforces of 60.000 in 2014 and on the other, the unemployment rate was above 10 %. The solution lies in the better use of Berlin’s labour market potential as all as its diversity and strength as an international metropolis.

We present projects showing how this potential can be used. For more often than not, the wheel is re-invented again and again. Time and resources are being wasted drafting approaches from scratch instead of drawing on good practice. This is where Berlin Transfer comes in: We aim at spreading ideas and knowledge in order to contribute to the transfer and further development of good practice.

We offer insights into projects in the field of labour market integration, skilled labour development, diversity, Corporate Social Responsibility and mobility, showing the impact and possibilities of European funding. Besides, we present funding possibilities as well as studies, guidelines and other useful information and links in the menu items “topics” and “knowledge pool”.

Our aim is to show the impact and possibilities of European funding in the fields of vocational training, employment and inclusion by:

  • presenting good practice: We portray model and pilot projects (funded by the state of Berlin) in the field of vocational qualification investigating new innovative ways of overcoming the skills shortage in Berlin. In the other “panoramas” we provide an overview over projects in the frame of ESF funded programmes by the German federal government in the field of employment and integration;
  • addressing current topics: Under „Themen“ (topics) we gather studies, reports and news in the fields of employment, lifelong learning, demographic change, integration, companies and social innovation in order to show the thematic basis of the project interventions;
  • pointing out European funding possibilities: In addition to insights in the practical implementation and topics of European funding, we also present an overview of different funding programmes – EU Structural funds as well as EU programmes in the field of employment and integration;
  • pooling information: In our „knowledge pool“ we gather practical tools and guidelines for companies, vocational training providers and NGOs and provide references to the political strategies behind funding programmes. Furthermore, we point to upcoming events in regard to relevant topics, the presented projects and EU programmes.
